Endangered Creatures — How the Quest Item Works
What counts as an Endangered Creature in How to Fish, how to recognize the label, and why the Tourist needs one for the Carrot bait.
How the Endangered Species label works
Video-tested: The Tourist quest on the third island asks for “one of those endangered creatures.” In the supplied videos, players recognize the correct catch because the item text itself displays Endangered Species.
That means the safest method is not to memorize one species. Fish the island’s available lure pool and inspect unusual catches until the label appears.
Known launch-day observations
Different videos encountered the Endangered Species tag on different-looking creatures, including small or unusual fish. Because the evidence does not establish a complete fixed list, this guide deliberately avoids publishing a fabricated “all endangered fish” table.
What happens after the hand-in
Give the labelled creature to the Tourist. He provides the Carrot used to bait Pufferfish, which is the story threat keeping him out of the water.
Do not accidentally cook or gamble the quest catch
Casino and grill mechanics can change an item’s value or destroy it if a gamble loses. Once you see the Endangered Species label while working on the Tourist quest, carry it straight to the NPC.
