How to Fish Giant Piranha Boss: Leech Bait, Adds & Skeleton

How to summon Giant Piranha

1. Activate the Island 2 NPC request.
2. Find 3 Leeches on the ground around the island quest area; they are not fish you catch in the water.
3. Return all three to the NPC.
4. Receive Leech Bait.
5. The NPC warns you to have a gun ready before using the bait.

The boss fight is a swarm, not a clean duel

Giant Piranha brings many smaller piranhas into the fight. Treat those adds as both a threat and a resource.

• Clear them before they surround you.
• Video-tested: killed small piranhas can be eaten during the fight for a useful heal.
• In co-op, one player can keep pressure on the boss while another clears adds and handles revives.
• Shotgun spread worked well against clustered adds in the supplied multiplayer runs.

The exact best weapon is patch-sensitive, so do not publish invented DPS numbers.

Do not lose the Giant Piranha Skeleton

After the large target dies, look specifically for Giant Piranha Skeleton. Ordinary piranhas and Meat Chunks are not the progression trophy.

Video-tested: handing the Skeleton back to the quest NPC gives a flash drive / coordinates that lead to Island 3.

• Quest says leeches? The tested count is 3, not an older secondary-guide count.
