Vacation Tourist Quest — Endangered Creature & Pufferfish
Complete the Tourist vacation quest in How to Fish: find an Endangered Creature, get the Carrot bait, defeat Pufferfish, and progress.
Tourist quest chain
Video-tested: The Tourist wants to swim but refuses because a dangerous fish is in the water. He offers special bait only after you bring him an Endangered Creature.
- Fish until a catch explicitly displays the Endangered Species label.
- Give that creature to the Tourist.
- Receive a Carrot.
- Use the Carrot as bait for the story Pufferfish.
- Defeat Pufferfish.
- Keep the Pufferfish Tail instead of treating every drop as ordinary meat.
- Return the tail to the quest NPC to progress.
What counts as an Endangered Creature?
The key is the item label, not a single guaranteed species name. Different launch-day videos encountered the Endangered Species tag on different catches. That makes “catch this exact one fish” less reliable than checking the label on each unusual catch.
Why the Pufferfish step confuses players
The Carrot is not food for the player in this chain; it is bait for the scary fish. After the kill, ordinary Meat Chunks do not appear to be the progression item. A multiplayer group only advanced after finding the Pufferfish Tail.
For combat routing, use the Pufferfish Boss Guide.
